His experiences in the China-Burma-India Theater during World War II. His education and youth in South Texas; enlistment in the Army, September, 1942; assignment to the Courts-Martial Section, Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas, 1942-44; Officer Candidate School, Fort Lee, Virginia, 1944; Quartermaster School, Fort Lee, 1944; assignment to Chabua, India, 1945, as a rations breakdown officer; his job as a warehouse officer in charge of moving supplies to airstrips for transportation to the front, 1945; problems with wild elephants raiding warehouses; relations with Indian laborers; end of the war and the disposal of supplies; his return to the States, January, 1946; his postwar career in the Army Reserve.
