Among other organizations, they have been active in the National Organization for Women, the Dallas Gay Political Caucus, the Dallas Gay and Lesbian Alliance, and the Dallas Democratic Party. In a 2010 interview with Karen Wisely they discussed Dallas's response to the HIV/AIDS crisis, their efforts to harness the collective power of gay and lesbian voters, and their efforts to convince local employers to treat all of their employees with dignity--and they shared their secrets for a long, healthy relationship.
