She discusses meeting fellow therapists Desiree Israel and Jabina Coleman in 2016, and working with them to found the Perinatal Mental Health Alliance for People of Color in 2017. The Alliance then merged with Postpartum Support International (PSI).

The interview centers on her history with maternal mental health/postpartum depression, her work running a support group in the 1980s (Baby Blues Connection in Portland, Oregon), and her involvement in Postpartum Support International. With PSI, she discusses her volunteer work as a state coordinator, her work on the board, and then her eventual hire as executive director (2009).
