For the Postpartum Depression and Maternal Mental Health Oral History Project. Dr. Shoshana Bennett is a survivor of postpartum depression and anxiety, as well as a clinical psychologist focused on maternal mental health and maternal-infant attachment. In the 1987 she founded the support group/self-help group/advocacy group Postpartum Assistance for Mothers. Later she became a therapist and a leader in the development of postpartum depression-specific therapy. She has written a number of books, including Postpartum Depression for Dummies and Beyond the Blues. She was president of the postpartum organization Postpartum Support International (PSI).
