Interview with husband and wife Thomas and Achukutty Tharayil, Malayali immigrants to the United States from the state of Kerala in India. Both describe their upbringing in the towns of Kaipuzha and Ranni and their educational choices that led to their later careers. Achukutty Tharayil describes her nursing career that took her to Zambia, both discuss their meeting, marriage, and later immigration to Chicago, Montreal, New York, and finally settling in Texas. They discuss their Knanaya identities and how they participated in Knanaya community events here in the United States, reflect on their immigration stories, and their views of the United States.
