Clark, Alma. The Bolivar Oral History Project. Clark’s interview for the Bolivar Oral History Project was conducted in conjunction with the Bolivar Archeological Project’s community engagement efforts. Clark relates her childhood in Lampasas, Texas, and her relocation to Austin to complete her education at L.C. Anderson High School. The interview covers how she met and married her husband, the Reverend W.C. Clark, in Austin. He was a native of Quakertown in the city of Denton. In 1962, the couple and their young children moved to Denton. Clark discusses her civil rights activism with the Denton Women’s Interracial Fellowship. She also shares recollections of the Black community of Southeast Denton during the 60s and 70s.
