Memories of childhood in Robertson County, Texas, farming family; experience in one-room, all-black schoolhouse and E.A. Kemp High School; marriage to Roland Green and decision to move to Abilene, Texas; separation from Roland Green and decision to move with three young children to Cisco; work as a maid, factory worker, and nurse’s aide; children’s experiences in desegregating schools relationships with black and white communities in Cisco; decision to press a racial discrimination case against Eastland Healthcare; life in retirement.
