Johnny describes his childhood through the foods he grew up on. His grandparents, who provided him and his sister with care and supervision, influenced Johnny's palate. As he grew up, his relationship to food changed as he became aware of his body and body size. His relationship, then, became one of control in order to obtain a desirable body. At the time of the interview, Johnny reflected on how he is currently unlearning this kind of relationship to food.
